Garth Brooks is opening up about life with wife Trisha Yearwood after 14 years of marriage.
The country singers’ are handling the ups and downs of marriage together. Brooks claims the couple has started to have more “intense” talks in the latter years of their union.
“We’re coming up on 14 years of marriage, so we’re kind of in that stage where we have discussions that are intense, a little more than usual,” the ‘Friends In Low Places’ singer shared with Us Weekly at the George H.W. Bush Points of Light Awards Gala in New York City.
Brooks and Yearwood have learned through their disagreements how to gain a better understanding of the other one’s viewpoint.

“I think how she inspires me is she thinks differently than me. And so, it forces you out of just what you think you know, into what don’t you know, and to look over in there. I think what he’s saying is that he listens to me and I’m usually right,” the 55-year-old country crooner revealed.
They may have more intense discussions these days, but the couple has also never been more in sync. Last year the famous duo admitted they love to do everything together, even after over a decade of being married.
Yearwood and Brooks enjoy spending time on their farm, as well as building houses for Habitat for Humanity and playing hockey.
“I gotta tell you, there’s not a build that we leave that I’m not more in love with her than when we got there! Talk about being in love with somebody. When you look great in full hockey gear, that’ll fill your heart right there,” Brooks said of building houses and playing hockey with his lady love.

Thanks to their high-profile music careers, the couple has to spend time apart. They work together to create holes in their schedules to see each other. Brooks admits he and his wife don’t like to have more than a week or two apart.
